Airtight storage that keeps coffee tasting fresh

Whole beans start losing aroma the moment they meet air, light and moisture. A vacuum canister pulls the air out rather than simply sealing it in, so the coffee you grind on Friday still tastes like the coffee you opened on Monday.

Storage matters most if you buy beans more than a week ahead, or keep several bags open at once. Keep the canister somewhere dark and away from the kettle — heat is the other quiet killer. Ground coffee fades within days, so store whole beans and grind just before brewing where you can.

If your coffee already tastes flat rather than stale, the culprit is often the grinder or the ratio instead — our guides on how to store coffee beans and why a pour-over tastes bitter or sour walk through both.
